Inge Jansen is a Chinese culture and society specialist and speaks Mandarin Chinese fluently. She has studied the country for many years. She has been an independent consultant and writer since 2007, dividing her time between the Netherlands and China.

Her premise is that ‘knowledge’ leads to ‘understanding’, hence the name of her company: mingbai, the Chinese word for ‘understanding’. She writes about China – Inge is the author of the Dutch Dominicus China travel guide book – gives lectures and organises Beijing tours, both hiking and cycling. Her company increasingly caters for business people that are eager to understand the local culture.

Mingbai is part of Mudan Consultancy, an organisation that organizes and supervises business and cultural activities in China for Dutch companies and organizations.
